  1. In the vicinity of the school is a fort owned at present by Mr James Fitzpatrick Anney. This fort is supposed to be an old fairy haunt and people are supposed to have heard the fairies singing and dancing there long ago.
A treasure is also supposed to have been hidden there. It was guarded over by a bull. People are said to have dug for it but when hearing the bull roar ran away with fear.
I have often heard my father say that when the present James Fitzpatrick's father used get up in the morning he would see where the fort had been dug up during the night - someone searching for the treasure.
