  1. Nowadays everybody wears boots or shoes but long ago they didn't wear boots until they were quite big. At present the young boys and girls go barefoot during the following months - June, July, August and September. Boots are repaired in the district by John Duffy, Cornaghoe. There is only one shoe maker in the country and his name is Frank Boyd of Clae. Wooden clogs are worn by old men and some people. Leather is not tanned in the district.
