    was being made it was a great way of making your feet hard by walking in the water. Boots are mended in this district. No one should wear tight boots because it will leave them bad eye-sight. If you go barefooted and hit your big toe against a stone it is called a "crig". The cure for corns is to wash your feet in washing soda. There are no shoemakers in this district. Leather was made in this district long ago.
