  1. Our Holy Wells
    In this parish there is only one holy well and that is situated at "the City" a rocky place at the foot of the two Pap monutains, made holy by a saint named "Crobh Dearg" who lived there years ago. She was a sister to St. Gobnaith of Ballyvourney and to St. Latern of Cullen.
    The people of this district and for many miles around even from Cork and Limerick still pay rounds there on May Eve and May day. They drink some water from the holy well and take bottles of it home to their relatives, as it is said to be
