Long ago in this townland lived a woman whose name was Brigid Costello who is dead now. There is a story about her. One evening she was walking along the river and after a while she heard a little noise like the tipping of a hammer. Then she went to where she heard the noise. Under a tree she saw a Leipreachán making a shoe; she stole on him and seized him by the body. Then she told him that she would not let him go until he would tell her where a pot of gold was hidden. He told her to carry him to the first big tree that she would meet. When they reached the tree and left him, and he told her to get a spade and dig under it. Then she went away and got the spade and when she came back she started to dig and after all her digging she found nothing; then she knew he(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
