  1. The tinkers of this district mostly live in the bogs. They live very poor lives. They make their living by making sauspans, buckets, and other little things, and then selling them to the people. They get the tin in the shops at a low price. The commonest names of them round our district are the Maloneys, Maughans, and McDonaghs.
The gypsies sell all kinds of things such as little tables, artificial flowers, carpets, mats, and many other little things. They live in vans on the roadsides. Two or three families go together at the same time
