  1. The hen is a very small bird. She is not as half as big as a turkey. She is of many colours. Every farm house keep a good many hens.
    The hen lays an egg every morning, and often laying she "clucks" and suns out of the house to the yard. They are fed with meal and potatoes.
    In spring all the best eggs are gathered and put under the hatching hen and when the young chickens come out they look very queer.
    The hens house is very dirty and there are sticks going from side to side of the house on which the hens perch.
    The hens do a good deal of damage. When the people
