One May morning before sunrise a man in this locality was going to the fair in Listowel.

    (continued from previous page)
Come butter, and after a timehis charm was more powerful than hers she came back and he took the bladder from her.
He cut the bladder with his knife and there did as much milk and butter come out of it as would fill a tub.
The woman had to go down on her knees and promise the man that she would never interfere with her neighbours' butter or milk again.
It was a great custom years gone by for people to go milking their neighbour's cows during the night.
They had a charm also for carrying the butter.
