    sun was sinking beneath the western horizon and shedding its last ruddy rays on the silvery water of the river Cashen.
    Her father's leg was broken and as he lay prostrate in the strand a man from Lixnaw riding a grey steed galloped past him he implored of him to take him up behind him the man told him he was only flying for his life and that it was impossible for him to mount behind him with a broken leg.
    Her father rose in one leg and jumped up behind the man.
