  1. A Song

    Attend my galland Irishman,

    I
    Attend my galland Irishmen,
    Attend my native news,
    Although my song be sorrowful,
I hope you will me excuse,
It been on a summers morning,
By the dawning of the day,
O left my father's residence, to wander far away,
As I viewed those fertile hills; I never more would see.
I surely thopught my heart would brake,
    When leaving Glancalee.
    II
Fairwell unto dark Donegal, likewise my father's land,
In dreams I oft times see her hills her towns and mountains grand,
But alas three thousand miles away, lies between our hill and me,
In a foreign isle I am doomed to toil
    Far, Far from Glanacalee.
