Suddenly the rooster flapped his wings and crew; instantly the crowd of revellers vanished and Manis was left alone in a wood. It took him two weeks to get back home for he seemed to have lost his fair companion for the time being and also his sense of direction. After he got hime this fair companion began to review his acquaintance and to visit him nightly and the night became a horror to him instead of a pleasure as it would appear that Manis was becoming afraid of his fair one.
