    form what we call creels.
    They are very useful for many purposes. They are put on the donkeys backs and turf is brought home in them. Potatoes are also brought hime in creels. The farmers put the manure out in creels when they are preparing the land for their crops in Spring.
    Thatching
    Thatching is a very ancient craft and is sstill a day's work for most farmers, especially in this district. Many farmers spend the whole Winter thatching. Besides the dwelling, they might have to thatch the outhouses such as the byre, barn or piggery.
