  1. About 70 or 80 years ago there was a good deal of witchery in this part of the country the butter was taken from a number of families in seven districts.
    In the townland of Clooncliva in the parish of two or three families lost butter. They went to the Local priest and he told them to get a black greyhound without a white hair - they did so.
    The priest then told them to watch their cows at daylight next morn and to have the greyhound with them.
