    Once upon a time there was a well in this district.

    Once upon a time, there was a well in this district. It was believed that it was unlucky for a woman to be the first to go to a well on May morning.
    There was a woman living near this well, and as she had no one but herself, she used to go to the well every morning.
    She forgot that this was May morning and so she went for the water as usual, with 2 cans.
    As she was returning, she noticed the cans felt lighter and when she got to the house, the cans were full of blood.
    Then the well dried up and became almost closed up and there was no water to be got except in a dirty pool.
    The woman divided the blood among
