    As I roved out one evening, down by the river side...

    As I roved out one evening, down by a river side, I heard a couple talking as they walked hand in hand, and to hear their conversation I eagerly did stand, and to hear their conversation I drew nigh to a bush, till at length he said “my charmer I thought I had my wish”.
    “Ah then Johnny, dearest, Johnny what is that you mean?”
    “Ah then Nancy, lovely Nancy, the truth I do explain, to become a Roman Catholic as I have now described, for I see that you’r a heretic that never was baptized.”
