    One evening when late as i

    One evening when late as I strayed on the banks of a clear silvery stream.
    I sat down on a bank of prim roses
    Where I quickly fell into a dream
    I dream't that I met a young female.
    Her equal I never seen before.
    She sighed for the wrongs of her country
    As she stood upon Eirns green shore.
    She dressed in the wichest atire.
    And green was the mantle she wore
    It was trimmed with a rose and shamrock
