  1. Raftery the Irish poet was travelling between Killcolgan and Craughwell. A heavy shower of rain fell and he went under a bush for shelter. After a while the bush began to leak down on top of him, He stood out from the bush and made a terable curse in Irish on top of it. The bush never blossomed green since and is still sound. From that day to this is known as a "Sceach Teircthe"
