    This means putting clay up around the stalks. This work is done by the plough.
    Then early in July the potatoes are sprayed. They spraying mixture is bought in the local shop or in town. It is mixed with mater in a barrel, and is applied to the potato stalks by means of a machine carried on the back of the person. The spray is done best in dry weather. Some people apply the spraying mixture twice.
