Feirmeóir é. How the village of St. Brendan's got its name. St. Brendan spent a while in that village. He had a chapel there for himself. How the blessed well was found. Long ago that ground was covered with rushes. There were a man and a dog crossing the field. The man was blind. He bent down and pulled a rush from the ground. The water sprang up and struck him in the eyes. Immediately he got the sight. He put a mark in that spot. The people dug a well and put the image of our Lord nailed to a cross. The people visit the well twice during the year and perform the stations of the cross. The ruins of the old chapel(continues on next page)
