There is another such tree in Mr McGillney's field in Umericam, and during the last high wind in winter it was lifted out of the roots and left a few yards from where it was. At the end of a few weeks time the people living in the vicinity noticed that it was growing in the same place out of which it had been lifted by the storm.
These people said that the tree was too heavy for six men to lift, and they looked upon this tree having been replaced as remarkably strange.
There is another such bush in Mr Bliue's field in Ballymagan, and it is just beside the fort.
There are many of these gentle bushes all through the country, and the old people tell us that we should not harm them lest we should fall into bad luck.
Such was the belief of the old people of one hundred years ago, and the old people of to-day believe these stories that were handed down to them from their elders.
