   In the olden times they held the fairs in fields and in hills and the people would come round and buy things.
   The way the people shows that they bargain was made. Sometimes they would spit out and hit hands. The way they mark the beast. Sometimes they would tie a cord round the cows tail or they would tie a thread on its horn.

   In olden times the floors of the houses was made of clay and the room floors was made of flags and cement. There was a half door in nearly every house. There was sods at the back of the fire and there were sticks and turf at the front. The people burned candles called rush candles to show them light. They made these candles themselves. The way that they made them was they got a bit of a board and they put some resin on it. Then they got a bit of string and they put it on top of the resin to make the wick and then they put
