Dan O'Connell. Sam's son was called Robert. He was turned out a K.C but only fought (pleaded) one case and sure enough who was again' him but Dan O'Connell. He wasn't clever enough for Dan and lost the Case.
I never heard what the case was but Robert told me it played on his conscience and gave up the law.
Others say that the old Colonel (his uncle) was too straight to have his nephew in the crooked ways of the law. Anyway Robert became a clergy (clergyman) and remained that way.
He's buried at the Crossroads about 60 years ago.
The father Sam is buried inside the church standing up? and a slab over the coffin. Roberts daughter lived here till l2 years ago.
She is buried in the garden at Monellan
