  1. Every district has its own heroes.
About forty years ago there were some good mowers in this district. One still lives, he is Denis Kelly, Crossroads, Killygordon. The other who is Patrick Bonner is dead about two years ago. Their biggest feat was to mow a four acre field in a day.
In the district of Calhame near Killygordon. Their still lives a man named James Gallagher who used to walk to Letterkenny every weeks this is a distance of fourteen miles across country, and to make matters worse he used to do the journey barefooted.
