    The farmers sons and daughters came in to the Oldtown fair on the 8th June as it was a matrimonial fair and the matches were always made up at the fair and later the marriage was held.
    They arranged that day what dowry they would be given by their parents.
    When the wedding day arrived they went in a side-car to the church to get married. Then they would go for a long (run) drive and back to the brides house for a nights entertainment and in the morning the bride and groom were escorted to their new house.
