    On St. Brigid's Eve green rushes are cut and are brought into the home. Then there is a great feast on that night and after the feast everyone makes a green rush cross in honour of St. Brigid. And one is placed over the door of each house and brings good luck for the coming year.

  2. At Christmas mummers come round. They are dressed so as nobody would know them. Their faces are covered with cloths and you can see nothing but the nose and eyes and they come into the houses.
