The following are some of the games that are played in the Summer- “Spin the Trencher,” “Frog in the Middle” and Musical Chairs” spring the Trencher is played in the following manner. All players but one are numbered and seated in a circle:
The odd one stands in the centre and twirls a plate. As he starts to spin he calls a number, and the player bearing the number springs up and catches the plate before it stops twirling. If successful he returns to his place: if not, he takes the place of the spinner and pays a forfeit.
Around the fireside in the winter season-ludo, draughts, snakes-and-ladders and chess are played. Table-Tennis is a very popular pastime now-a-days.
It is an indoor game and is much indulged in during the long winter nights.
