  1. About three miles west-wards from Brittas there are the ruins of an old Gearldine castle, which is situated in the town-land of Killteel, barony of Naas, parish of Edestown, and in the Co. Kildare. (Eadestown)
It is said that Cromwell's army passed by this place on their way to Waterford.
It is also said, that it was at that time,
that they shelled the castle in Kilteel.
At the back of the castle, there is an old grave-yard, but I cannot find out any-thing about it.
The people often go to the top of it,
as the winding stairs is still there.
It is a lovely view when you go to the top of it, as you can see a great part of the country.
