- About two hundred years ago there was a factory over in Patrick Condon's, Inch, where iron pots, pans and other iron utensils were made. It was about two miles west from Ballyheaffy school. No one in this locality has any of the articles that were made in this factory, but an old woman in Clonmel has a pot that was made there. We are told that an Earl of Cork built this factory. None of the old people living at present have an idea where the iron which made these articles was got.Basket making was also carried out in this locality. A man named John Drislane who is living near my home makes baskets for picking potatoes, cabbage and for keeping clothes in them. He makes them with sallow twigs.Butter churns, cream cools, milk tubs and all kinds of barrels(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
