  1. There is an old Castle in the Castle field number (26) in Enniscoe and it was built by the Danes over a thousand years ago. When the Danes settled in Ireland they built that castle to live in. The walls are covered with Ivy.
    You can see the fireplace there yet. It is built about ten yards from the lake which is Lough Conn. There is another castle built opposite it on castle Island which was built the same time.
