  1. My Village
I live in the village of Cloonkee. It is in the parish of Ardagh near the town land of Ballina. In the Barney of Tyrawley. There are sixteen families in Cloonkee. There are seventy six people in it. There are seven old people in also. Three of them can talk Irish. There are more thatched houses than slated housed in Cloonkee. There is no wood in Cloonkee. There are two streams n Cloonkee. Those are the names of the people that can talk Irish. Pat Murphy Cloonkee, Knockanillaun, P V, Ballina. John Munnelly, Cloonkee, Knockanillaun, P V, Ballina. The most common names are Careys and Mc Andrews. There were more houses in our village long ago than there are now. They got new farms of land. Some of the land in Cloonkee is good and more of it is bad. There is no river in Cloonkee. There is one beside it.
