  1. Christmas is the biggest festival of the year in Ireland for hundreds of years. Long ago the people had many customs concerning Christmas, the following are a few.
    When night fell a candle was lit in the house and these were nearly always couloured either pink, or blue, or brown, or yellow and all the fast colours. Then the children played hide-and-go-seek, and
