  2. There were not many story-tellers in this locality the principal being Martin Quinn who lived in Gurrane.
    Every night people come to hear the stories and on some occasions people came distances varying from two to three miles.

  3. There was once a woman name Mary Joyce and one day she walked to Croagh Patrick and back again and she climbed the mountain and made a Station of the bross on it in seventeen hours.
    She started he journey at 5 a.m. and she returned a 12 p.m.
