    On St. Stephens day small boys go out in the wren. They dress themselves up in ragged old clothes and go around from house to house collecting money. They do have a wren in a box they sing songs and play mouth organs
    This is the song they sing
    The wren, the wren the king of all birds;
    St Stephen;s day was caught in the furze;
    All though he is little he is honoured as great
    Get up good land-lady and give us a treat;
    If you give us anything give us the best?
