    It is not right to give anything on May Day.
    It is not lucky to get married in May
    If you hear a magpie singing in the morning it is a sign that you will get a letter.
    If you get a bird's nest and three eggs in it and if this is the first you get in the year, you won't have luck for a year afterwards.
    If there is a flood on New Years day the flour and meal will be dear but if ther is no flood they will be cheap. There was no flood this year and the flour is cheap.
