A churning is made once a week in the winter and twice a week in the summer. My mother does the churning.
When a churning is being made in a house and a stranger comes in he takes the churn dash for a few minutes. this is done so that they would be a better supply of butter. Churning takes an hour and is done by hand. The churn dash is always moving up and down
