    Another old custom was to boil the first milk from the cow until it got thick then put pepper & salt on it and eat it like porridge.
    An old custom was if you hang an apple peel on the door, the first man that would come to the door the eldest Girl in the Family would be married to him.
    Dancing round the May Pole on May eve the children each hold a long ribbon attached to the pole.
    The May bush was decorated with all sorts of coloured ribbons & candles, when darkness used to fall, they lighted the candles, then they danced & sang around the bush.
    There was an old custom of lighting a large fire with turf on 23rd June this was handed down from time St Patrick lighted the Paschal Fire at Tara.
