  1. There is a well in Lackan, it is not very far from Blessington. People go there to be cured. Some people say a great many people went there, and when they drank the water they came back cured. Old people say that it is not right for this well to be taken by the Liffey-Scheme. There is an old prophecy which says that if the water is ever used for commercial purposes there will be a curse on the whole undertaking.
