  1. (continued from previous page)
When the fields are all green and the
    orchard is white.
When the mill was at work and the corn it was ground,
For the public and farmers for many
    miles round,
And the mill-race ran swiftly with
    waters so bright
And the kiln fire was burning all
    day and all night,
And the folk came in daily with
    car loads of grain,
And the old mill kept grinding the
    fresh oatmeal.
Now the time is approaching and it
    wont be long
Till the whir of machinery will sound
    on the strand,
And the milk cars and milk cans will
    rattle all day,
As the milk from the creamery is
    carted away-
Near the green sloping lawn where stately and grand
Stands the home of our childhood,-
    the first in the land.
