  1. Potatoes are grown on our land and are usually a very good crop.
    We sow about two acres every year for our own use and for pigfeeding.
    We usually sow the same complement every year as we have the same number of pigs.
    Every year my daddie and one of the workmen plough and work the land with the horses sometimes they have two pairs of horses working.
    We generally plough in farmyard manure before Christmas and we put phosphate and sometime sulphate of Ammonia and potash in the ground when sowing the seed.
    The drills are made with a mould board plough used just the same as a plough
