    to the fire this is a sign of bad weather. When a seal goes up on the rocks we are going to have a storm. If the smoke turns down after it comes out of the fire this is a sign of rain. When you see a lot of ants on a rock you will have rain soon. Before a shower you would see the cattle running to the ditch for shelter. When there is a "mackerel" sky at night you will have bad weather on the next day.
    If you walk out on a winters night and see the stars shining you are going to have frost that night. When there is a ring around the moon you are going to have rain. A rainbow in the morning is a sailors warning. If the sun "rises" too early in the morning you will have bad weather on this day.
