  1. There was a man living in Ross named Cain Carroll. One winter's night he brought in a log which was so big that it kept burning for 3 weeks.
    When it was nearly burnt, a hare jumped out of it & ran out the door. The people believed there was a fairy in the form of a hare in the locality.

  2. Some of the relations of Tadhg an [?] live near Ahafore & there is a place called Cos Dearg - the path of the red soldier because the Red-coats visited the place. One of their soldiers was believed to be killed there & strange lights were seen there. The place was haunted & people were afraid to pass there in the night-time
