old customs since that time When the people would be coming from, and going to the marriage they would go on horse back. The people used to peg rice at them coming from the chapel. They used to break an oat meal cake over their heads and peg an old shoe at them. When a man wanted to marry a girl he sent another man to her parents house to ask her. If they agreed the man took out a bottle of whiskey out of his pocket and each one drank a sup.
