    1. About one hundred and twenty years ago they used make light by steeping a rush in lard and lighting one end.
    They also got oil out of the dog fish and they used light it.

    2. There are not many known hidden treasures around this place but long ago a chalice was supposed to be hidden in Sherkin Abbey One morning a lot of man went to work digging in search of it and they found it bright and shining at the foot of a cliff
