About fifty or sixty years ago, some people around this place were churning, if the butter did not come they would say that some person in the neighbourhood had the charm of taking the butter without been seen. There was a woman living at this time in the Red hills of Kildare and her name was Moll Anthony. It was believed that Moll could work magic, so that the people used to go to her privately. She would tell them to go home and churn as usual but to get the irons of the plough and put them in the fire and to tie the chains around the churn, and that the person who was taking the butter would come up to the door crying while they were churning. There would be no further trouble with the butter.
