There is a field in Ballagh on which stands the castle and it is called "The Castle Field". One corner of this field is called "Lawlor's Corner". A man of that name is said to have resided there a long time ago.
There is a corner of a field(fifty) within fifty yards of Ballagh cross. It is covered by a cluster of blackthorn bushes and it is called£The Black Cats Corner".- Informant
