    That splendid work of art which came from Sicily,
    Shows Mary Immaculate so heavenly to see;
    The background is a hilltop, all covered o'er with green,
    Now you have a picture of "The Lourdes of Carrigeen"

    Inside is raised an altar, outside are flowers and trees,
    So like the one original, beside the Pyrenees;
    Young Cypress shoots are waving, they make a rustling sound,
    A tiny palm just raises its read about the hallowed ground
    And standing near the Grotto are monnoments of pride
    That tell a man's past virtures the time and place he died;
