    Fairy Forts
There is a fort in the townland of Dromartin owned by a man named Dan Connell, and he went one day to knock a portion of the bank around the fort, but he was very soon prevented because he was frightened by what he saw. A hare ran out of the fort and a plough attached to him and it ran around the fort several times. The horse that this man had, took fright and ran away, with the result that the horse was turned, the car broken and that stopped the work in the fort. The next morning the horse was dead. The man who owned this fort was my second cousin and it happened about twenty years ago.
