  1. People in the country keep a good many cows. The sell the ol sweet milk and some of it they churn. The milk is put into fresh clean crocks or pails and kept until it has turned sour and has became thick. It is then put into a churn.
    There are many kinds of churns. Those who do not churn much milk use the barrel churn with a staff which they pull up and down to make the milk. There is another small churn which is like a drum turned on its side and in the centre is a handle which is turned around to mix the milk
