    another time and the hounds were in full cry after him. The chase lasted for and hour or more and the fox was getting fairly tired. He came out on the road and the hounds were close behind him. There was a car passing at the time and the fox got up on the axle of the car. The hounds searched everywhere but couldn't find him. The fox stayed on the axle for two miles. This is a fact.
