  1. There are four forges in this parish. There is one in Meenagowan, one in Meeacrosh, one in Dungloe, and one in Maghery. John Boyle, Meenagowan. Dan Devenney, Maghery. Mick Roarty Dungloe. Patrick Brennan, Meenacrosh are the smiths. John Boyle’s father was a smith and his grandfather was another smith. Mick Roarty’s Father was a smith. The kind of roofs that are on the forges is the Dungloe forge is timber and cement.
